For a limited time, DTE Energy's fall promotion boosts the furnace tune-up rebate to up to $150 — up from the usual amount. Two ways to get it:
- Instant discount: the rebate comes straight off your invoice
- Check by mail: apply after service and DTE mails you a check (typically 4–6 weeks)
Eligibility basics: your home must heat with natural gas supplied by DTE, the tune-up must be completed between September 1 and November 15, 2026, and rebate applications must be submitted by December 31, 2026. One rebate per furnace every two years — if you got a furnace tune-up rebate in 2025 or 2026, this round isn't eligible. We'll handle the paperwork with you.
What's Included in a Tune-Up
Furnace tune-up (fall) — $79
- Inspect heat exchanger for cracks and corrosion
- Clean burners and flame sensor; check ignition system
- Test safety controls and carbon monoxide levels
- Check gas pressure and combustion
- Inspect blower motor, belt, and electrical connections
- Replace or clean filter; calibrate thermostat
